Ashtalakshmi Temple is a Hindu temple which is dedicated to Devi Lakshmi and her eight primary forms. The Sanctorum is depicted in a multi-level complex in such a way that visitors can visit all the temples without stepping into any of the sanctums.

It is believed that Mahavishnu, who married Goddess Lakshmi, also married eight forms of Goddess Lakshmi and they live inside the temple together. Hence the name Ashtalakshmi (eight forms of Lakshmi) temple. The eight forms of Goddess Lakshmi are Gajalakshmi, Santana Lakshmi, Vidya Lakshmi, Vijayalakshmi, Dhanalakshmi, Dhanalakshmi, Adilakshmi, and Sharyalakshmi.

Sri Ashtalakshmi Temple cultural hall, attached to the main temple is approximately about 3,600 square feet in area. It is situated in a great location and close to 59 and the surrounding Sugar Land and Katy areas. A spacious lobby and the hall can seat up to 300 people. The beautifully decorated and spacious event rooms at Sri Lakshmi Temple will make your upcoming celebration, class, and workshop even more extraordinary.
Rooms are available in various sizes ranging from just under 200 sqft to 3,600 sqft. The efficient layout, design, and versatility of the rooms will suit any occasion.

Permitted

poojas/bhajans/conferences/discourses related to Vedic dharma are permitted.

SOCIAL EVENTS: PERMITTED

music/dance recitals-classical- Carnatic/ Hindustani/devotional.

Community awareness educational lectures such as health, financial, etc, are allowed.

NOT- PERMITTED:

Any activity, performance, music, or film that is deemed vulgar, profane, loud, disturbing, or demeaning to the spiritual atmosphere of the temple will not be permitted in the hall.

  • FAMILY EVENTS:

PERMITTED:

Seemantham, Annapraasana, birthday, engagement, marriage, Upanayanam, Shashti Poorti, Nama Karanam, graduation party, etc. are allowed.

Ashtalakshmi Temple Marriage Procedure

  • The bride must be at least 18 years old
  • The groom must be at least 21 years old
  • The free and voluntary consent of marriage must be given by both bride and groom
  • In the case of Hindu Marriage, the marriage must be solemnized by a licensed person in the presence of three witnesses
  • In the case of special marriage, the marriage must be solemnized by a licensed person in the presence of two witnesses
  • Neither the bride nor the bridegroom must have a living spouse
  • If the bride or groom were married before then they are required to produce a certificate showing that they are divorced or widowed

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS TO APPLY FOR TAMIL NADU MARRIAGE REGISTRATION

  • Proof of marriage (wedding invitation or temple marriage receipt Church marriage receipt or any proof of marriage solemnization)
  • Proof of residence of both bride and bridegroom (employee ID card or ration card or driving license or passport or visa)
  • 4 individual passport-size photographs of the bride and groom
  • Proof of age of both bride and groom (birth certificate or school/college certificate or passport/visa)
  • Certificate from a priest in case of marriage at a religious place
  • Wedding photograph of the couple
  • Wedding invitation card stating the name of husband and wife, venue, and date of marriage
  • Under the Christian Marriage act applicant is required to provide a reference number, dispatch number, and church certificate
  • Proof of divorce in case of divorce
  • Proof of death of a spouse in case the person was already married and widowed
