• For Age Proof – Verification of Certificate
• Verification of Affidavits
• Name & residential proof address (permanent) of applicant/ parties
• The name and present address of the father/guardian is to be verified
• Date and place of marriage
• The name and address of witnesses of marriage are to be verified
• Residential proof & identity proof to be corroborative to Municipal Corporation Area
• Voter ID Card/ Aadhar Card, Passport, or any Govt. of Odisha Identity card

MARRIAGE REGISTRATION VERIFICATION DAY AND TIMINGS (ONLY ON WORKING DAYS.)

Days and time:

• Wednesday – 3 pm to 5 pm.
• Saturday – 12 pm to 2 pm.

REGISTRATION:

• within 1 month of marriage

APPROVAL OF AUTHORITY

• Review the application & Crosscheck the documents.
• As per the rule, the applicant (bride & groom) both must be physically present at the BMC office (as per the ward they belong to) with their parents and two witnesses one from each end confirming the marriage.
• The additional commissioner also ensures the applicant and the witnesses are real and may face questions to verify if the marriage is genuine.
• Apart from this, the fingerprints are taken for both bride and groom as evidence for checking duplicity.
• If the application is valid, remarks are given with the approval.
