Kalyana Mantapa in Dharmasthala is located 2 to 3 km from the main temple. Only Hindu-arranged marriages are allowed at Dharmasthala. Dharmasthala Sri Manjunatha Kshetra is known for Hindu marriages. It is believed that those who are married in Dharmasthala will live happily. Thousands of devotees get married in Dharmasthala Sri Manjunatha Kshetra. Samuhika and individual marriages are performed at Dharmasthala. It is advisable to book a marriage hall 2 to 3 months in advance. Halls and rooms are limited at Dharmasthala.

Significance of Dharmasthala

Shri Vadiraja Swami from Udupi visited Dharmasthala at the request of Shri Devaraja Heggade in the 16th century. Shri Vadiraja Swami visited Dharmasthala but denied food. He pointed out that the installation of the Lord Shiva idol was improper. Shri Heggade requested Shri Vadiraja Swamy ji to reinstall the idol following the procedures. It is Shri Vadiraja Swamy who named it Dharmasthala.

Kalyana Mantapa Booking Procedure in Dharmasthala

  • The bride should be 18 years and above.
  • The groom should be 21 years and above.
  • Both the bride’s and groom’s families should be Hindus.
  • Only Hindu-arranged marriages are allowed at Dharmasthala.
  • Parents from both sides should be present for the marriage.
  • Interreligious marriages are not performed.
  • We allow inter-caste arranged marriages here.
  • The bride and groom have to submit Aadhar Card photocopies.
  • Bride parents and groom parents Aadhar card photocopies are required.
  • The bride and groom’s age proof documents are required.
  • In the case of parents’ absence, valid documents have to be submitted along with guardians’ photo ID proofs.
  • In a hall, only one marriage takes place.
  • We will handle all other arrangements, including catering, photography, video shoots, decoration, and purohit.
  • Simple and grand weddings can be performed in a Kalyana Mantapa
  • Kalyana Mantapa costs vary from Rs. 25,000 to Rs. 45,000, which varies with the hall capacity.
  • 20 to 30 rooms are available at a Kalyana Mantapa.
  • AC and non-AC rooms are available for booking.
  • Only non-AC marriage halls are available at Dharmasthala.

Marriage Registration at Dharmasthala

At Dharmasthala, there is no marriage registration. For Samuhika vivaha, a marriage receipt will not be issued. You can perform the marriage registration at your place.

Conclusion on Kalyana Mantapa in Dharmasthala

Marriage halls are not available in the temple premises. Marriage halls are located 2 to 4 km from the main temple. Shri Dharmasthala Manjunath Temple will not allocate any rooms for the marriage hall booking. You can perform your marriage here on any day. We do not allow love marriages or interreligious marriages. Parents’ presence is mandatory for the wedding. The Samuhika Vivaha wedding hall prohibits second marriages. The newlywed couple has to plan darshan on their own. A minimum of 2 to 3 months of booking is advisable, as halls and rooms are limited.
