Madurai Temple Marriage Procedure, Booking Details, and Wedding Hall Cost

Madurai Temple Marriage Booking Procedure

  1. The bride should be 18 years of age or older.
  2. The groom should be 21 years old or older.
  3. The Bride and groom’s family should be Hindus
  4. Only Hindu-arranged marriages are allowed at Madurai Temple.
  5. Marriage is not allowed in the Brahma Muhurtham timings.
  6. No marriage muhurthams are accepted after noon.
  7. Marriage halls are located near Periya Gopuram and have a capacity of 150 members each.
  8. The temple will be providing purohit, nadaswaram, and pooja articles.
  9. Mantap decoration and other arrangements will be charged extra.
  10. Catering services are not allowed inside the temple.
  11. Two Mandapam’s are available for the marriage inside the temple.
  12. Same-caste and inter-caste arranged marriages are allowed at Madurai Temple.
  13. The newlywed couples are allowed to have Darshan after marriage.
  14. Kindly note that marriage is not allowed before the deity.
  15. Love marriages without parents’ acceptance or presence are not allowed.

Marriage Booking procedure at Madurai Temple

  • Copies of the bride and groom’s Aadhar cards
  • Photocopies of the bride’s and groom’s Aadhar cards
  • The unmarried certificates of the bride and groom are required.
  • Photocopies of the bride and groom’s community certificate and transfer certificate are needed.
  • The Thasildhar or MRO will issue the unmarried certificate, or you can obtain it from the e-Seva office.

Documents required for Inter-caste arranged marriage

  1. Photocopies of the bride’s and groom’s Aadhar cards
  2. groom and bride’s parents’ copies of parents’ Aadhar cards
  3. photocopies of the rider’s and groom’s Transfer certificates and Community certificates
  4. The bride and groom’s online unmarried certificates are needed.
  5. The bride and groom must provide a separate NOC from nearby police departments.
  6. A notary declaring that the parents have approved the marriage is necessary.

Marriage Registration Procedure

  • The establishment will issue the marriage certificate, which is useful for marriage registration.
  • All inhabitants of Tamil Nadu can register online.
  • A card for a wedding invitation
  • photographs of the wedding and a copy of the bride and groom’s Aadhar cards
  • Witnesses, along with their Aadhar Cards photocopies
