Thila Homam in Rameswaram will be performed near Agni Theertham. One should take a holy dip at Agni Theertham before the puja. The puja duration is 4 to 5 hours. It is advisable to fast while performing this puja. This puja is performed to remove Pitru dosha (pitru shaap), Sthree dosha (sthree shaap), and Matru dosha (matru shaap). Anyone can perform this puja regardless of their age. An elder from the family should perform this puja. This puja should be performed with utmost devotion.   2. A woman can join along with her husband after the fifth day of their menstrual cycle.
  3. One should stop consuming non-vegetarian food and alcohol for 41 days after the puja.

  • Gents: dhoti (white) and shirt or kurta and pajama.
  • Ladies: saree or salwar kameez.
